The New Shimano Stella 5000SWB Spin Fishing Reel is a heavy duty reel designed for hard fighting drag busting fish! There are three models available in the Stella 5000SWB series a Power Gear – PG an Xtreme Gear XG and a High Gear HG model.

The Stella 5000 SWB PG “Power Gear” features a 4.6 : 1 gear Ratio cranking a solid 78cm of line per handle crank your jig or lure, the lower gear ratio (power gear) helps to manhandle big hard fighting fish, giving you the lifting power when you need it.

The Shimano Stella 5000SWB XG Xtreme Gear (xtra fast gear)features a 6.2: 1 gear ratio cranking at break neck pace 97cm of line per handle revolution. Perfect for throwing slices at fast moving pelagic fish without sacrificing lifting power when needed

The Shimano Stella 5000SWB HG High Gear features a 5.7:1 gear ratio cranking at break neck pace 105cm of line per handle revolution. Perfect for throwing metal slices at fast moving pelagic fish

Both Shimano Stella 5000SWB model feature a whopping 13kg of fish punishing drag (thats serious drag!) and line capacity of 230m of 30lb braid and there aren’t to many fish in the sea you cant catch.

Aircraft Aluminium Frame – The frame of the Shimano Stella SWB is constructed from Aircraft Grade Aluminium, so you know its going to be tough enough to handle the rigors of big fish and the harsh saltwater environment.

X Protect – There is a three tiered rubber seal system in the Stella SWB, the first lip in is designed to keep low pressure water out. the second and third lips are designed to resists high pressure water intrusion while enhancing a smooth rotor rotation. By sealing the roller clutch Shimano have eliminated the main cause of the water incursion.

X-Rigid Rotor, X-Rigid Bail and X-Rigid Handle – All three combine producing rigidity while eliminating power loss caused by flexing of the reel.

X Ship – Supports the pinion gear on both load bearing ends using Shimano’s S-ARB bearings this integrated with a larger drive gear, The design team at Shimano improved gearing efficiency and power. Final result a fishing reel with a light handle rotation; giving a flawless rotation even under extreme loads.

EI Anti Corrosion- Once the anodisation process is completed, a secondary layer of surface treatment is added. This treatment gives salt no place to hide resulting in an extremely smooth glass like finish. Any reel that has the E.I. treatment has over double the corrosion resistance of a standard one process anodised reel.

One Piece Bail – A one-piece bail wire, that has no gap for line to snag on during normal operation. Made from super tough stainless steel, the one piece bail reduces friction allowing the line to flow to the line roller quicker.

AR-C Spool Management System – The new AR-C spool lip design provides greater casting distances than the normal spool lip design, all the while virtually eliminating backlashes and wind knots. It allows the line to leave the spool in smaller loops during casting, reducing line slap on the stripper guide which restricts casting distance. Effectively this design helps you cast a country mile ( well a lot further then before).

Aerowrap – Aerowrap is a two-speed oscillation system that layers line onto the spool in a criss-cross or X style pattern. This pattern reduces line-to-line friction allowing longer casts to be madfe. Aerowrap reels use a worm gear design to oscillate the spool quickly upward and slowly downward which winds the line in a precise cross pattern.

Tough Drag – The Stella SWB reels feature a new Coil Wave Spring feature that provides consistent elasticity at any compression level. This spring results in extremely precise drag adjustments throughout the curve, giving more control at the high end of the drag curve. The end result is the toughest, most durable drag system Shimano has ever produced in a spinning reel.

X-Shield – 12 sealing gaskets are placed the critical locations of the rigid aluminum body, Shimano have created a water resistant structure that can hold up to the toughest of conditions.

S A-RB Bearings – Shimano’s Anti Rust design bearings are fully shielded, eliminating the chances of corrosion while minimizing the chance of salt or sand inhibiting the bearing’s rotation.
